One act plays are on tap

WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays, July 12 through July 21

WHERE: Clara Johnson Memorial Auditorium at Patterson High School, 200 N. Seventh St.

DETAILS: Patterson Repertory Theatre will feature three one-act plays directed by Kathryn Loughman. The plays are “The Ugly Duckling” by A.A. Milne, “The Patient” by Agatha Christie and “The Still Alarm” by George S. Kaufman.

COST: $7 general admission, $5 students and seniors

Comforting Kids Car Show

WHEN: Registration for cars in show, 9 a.m.

WHERE: Pioneer Park, 1250 Tulare St., Newman

DETAILS: The fifth annual car show hosted by nonprofit Comforting Kids will feature a disc jockey, food, vendors, drawings and awards. Comforting Kids, made up mostly of West Side residents, raises money all year round to deliver gifts at Christmastime to children hospitalized with long-term illnesses.

COST: Admission is free to the public; $35 to show a car or $30 in advance and includes a dash plaque and event T-shirt.
