Michelle Topete, a Patterson High School graduate of 2008, received a 3.9 GPA during her last spring semester at California State University Stanislaus. Topete, daughter of Maria Contreras and Francisco Topete, will graduate in the fall of 2014 with majors in anthropology and Spanish, respectively.

Topete also works for a program called California Mini-Corps, which gives migrant students supplemental aid in and outside of the classroom.

As of June 20, Topete has begun working for California Mini-Corps as an outdoor education instructor, which will allow her to work with a new group of children throughout California every week.
