On Thursday morning, Aug. 22, two drivers collided in a head on collision on Highway 33, just south of Fruit Avenue in the outskirts of Patterson.

At 7:35 a.m., California Highway Patrol were called in to the scene, and began to block to the roadways. Lenora Amadorjackson, 42, of Westley was driving a 2007 Pontiac southbound on Highway 33 with her two daughters, Juliana, 13, and Victoria, 8, before careening into the opposite lane, said Eric Parsons, public relations CHP officer.

Driving northbound of Highway 33 was Santiago Berber, 38, of Firebaugh, in a 2007 Peterbilt truck with two trailers full of tomatoes attached. Berber attempted evasive action and was able to strike the front left of his truck into the front left of Amadorjackson’s vehicle.

CHP reported that Lenora was transported to Memorial Hospital in Modesto by helicopter for moderate injuries. Her daughters were also transported to Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. All victims were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident, according to CHP.

The roadways were opened at 11:30 a.m.

“Just a reminder…try to avoid being distracted while on the roadways,” said Parsons. “It’s important to keep your eyes on the road at all times.”
