EDITOR:

I’ve been in the Soroptimist Club of Patterson for almost 50 years, and over 50 years ago, the Oleander bushes that are along Highway 33 were planted by Soroptimist. Now they have been removed and all you can see from the 33 is the ugly frozen foods building surroundings.

They were cut down without consulting anyone, as I was told at city hall. The city manager also knew nothing. No one at city hall knew what was going on. What are all those people who are running our town doing that they don’t know or care?

At the council meeting the city manager said the new owners didn’t know not to cut down the Oleander bushes. Wake up people of Patterson. Go to city council meetings. Check on your paid employees. They are not working for the good of my town. I live in Crows Landing, but Patterson is my town and has been for 64 years.
