The Howard Training Center Senior Meal Program provides lunches at 11:45 a.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Hammon Senior Center, 1033 W. Las Palmas Ave.

Local businesses and individuals provide lunches on Thursdays at the senior center.

The suggested donation is $2 for men and women age 60 and older. Those younger than 60 must pay $5. Thursday meals are provided by community organizations.

Reservations should be made before noon a day in advance by calling 895-8197 for meals on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays or 895-8180 for Thursday meals.

Monday, Sept. 2: Labor Day holiday; closed

Tuesday: Ham and cheese on wheat bread, lettuce and tomato slice, minestrone soup, pineapple and mandarin oranges

Wednesday: Beef tacos, flour tortilla with cheese, diced lettuce and tomatoes, yellow corn, ambrosia fruit salad

Thursday: Vegetable soup and a chicken sandwich provided by the Senior Meals Task Force

Friday: Breaded fish fillet with lemon slice and tarter sauce, peas and carrots, coleslaw, pineapple, wheat bread

Monday, Sept. 9: Tuna salad croissant, vegetable soup, mandarin oranges, chocolate pudding

Tuesday: Breaded pork chop, garlic mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, garden salad with ranch dressing, applesauce, wheat bread

Wednesday: Tostada salad with Thousand Island dressing, Mexicorn, apricots, tomato juice

Thursday: Mexican food provided by El Rosal

Friday: Hamburger on wheat bun, lettuce, tomato, online slice, potato wedges, orange juice

Monday, Sept. 16: Salisbury steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, California blend, apple, biscuit

Tuesday: Chili with meat and beans, mixed vegetables, pears, orange juice, cornbread

Wednesday: Chicken Parmesan, pasta with marinara sauce, carrots, tossed salad with ranch dressing, apple juice, and wheat bread

Thursday: Pizza, salad and fruit provided by Little Caesars

Friday: Barbecue chicken, sweet potatoes, creamy coleslaw, orange, cornbread

Monday, Sept. 23: Chicken and dumplings, yellow corn, mandarin oranges, vanilla pudding

Tuesday: Roasted turkey, gravy, seasoned stuffing, French cut green beans, diced sweet potatoes, pineapple orange juice

Wednesday: Baked potato with chili and cheese, carrot raisin salad, orange juice, cornbread

Thursday: Ham, beans, bread, fruit provided by the Senior Meals Task Force

Friday: Roast pork, mashed potatoes, gravy, peas and carrots, applesauce, wheat bread

Monday, Sept. 30: Barbecue pulled pork sandwich on a bun, creamy coleslaw, sweet potato fries, and pineapple
