Metal Shop rocks in Newman

WHEN: Show starts at 8 p.m. and doors open at 7 p.m.

WHERE: Westside Theatre, 1331 Main St., Newman.

DETAILS: Metal Shop, a band which showcases authentic costumes and old time music, brings back all the greatest hits from Arena Rock, Power Ballad, and Stadium Anthem era and is a musical tribute to the 70s, 80s and 90s. The band features the songs of Bon Jovi, Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Foreigner, Led Zeppelin and many more.

COST: $15 general admission, $18 reserved section; children and seniors half price

Westside Readers Book Club

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: Pizza Plus, 50 S. Del Puerto Ave.

DETAILS: The Westside Readers group will discuss "Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail" by Cheryl Strayed. The Westside Readers are resuming meetings after a summer break. Those who attend should bring ideas for books to read over the next nine months.

Apricot Fiesta sets annual meeting

WHEN: 7 p.m.

WHERE: Patterson Apricot Fiesta office, 26 S. Third St.

DETAILS: The Patterson Apricot Fiesta will hold its annual meeting at the Fiesta office and all are welcome to attend. The meeting focuses on report from nominating committee for officers and board members for the coming year and any amendments to bylaws or constitution. The regular meeting follows with election of officers and board members and committee reports.
