Voting with a moral compass

Mr. Ruiz, as a minority and with an extended family of almost every ethnicity, I could not agree with you more! I am no racist, yet my Christianity and conservative views and opposition of our President’s liberal and immoral policies makes me a politically incorrect intolerant racist, homophobe and rich elitist when that is the furthest thing from who I am — and friends and family can attest to that.

I have always voted with a moral compass; not with who the candidate is, their color, ethnicity or what’s in it for me socially or financially — although those things follow when morality leads. Forward, in Obama's dictionary, means control over society.

Without control, society may think they have right to live as they please! Yet Obama has lulled his base into a desensitized state of being with his gift of gab to please mass promises. The truth or facts no longer matter, as truth is what one deems their chosen truth to be. God, decency, integrity, our constitutional rights, and moral absolutes are being driven out of the public arena in order to push an agenda.

If God and moral absolutes are wiped from view — thus, eventually wiped from ones individual moral compass — one can live and do as they please with no reminder that there are consequences in life, just as long as it is done in the perimeter of government control and law.

We are all sinners and no country is perfect, nor will they ever be, but the continual attack on our religious freedoms and morality is destroying the traditional family and society.

One has only to google the rape, murder, abortion, incest, molestation and HIV aids death statistics — to name only a few — of the immoral diseases that now plague our society to see that liberal and secular policies are only destroying our society from within, which seems to be the goal of this administration.

The family unit is being attacked from every direction, with liberals providing the ammunition. They claim divorce is high, so any family unit is better then none, which is then an excuse to use children as guinea pigs with no thought of the consequences of such experiments.

They use bullying as an excuse to promote and encourage homosexuality, which in California alone has killed millions of young men from male on male sex alone. Why is it that we are told to abstain from anything that could cause cancer, even though we know for a fact what is killing millions of gay men.

Why is it promoted and encouraged to innocent children in our public schools? There is something chillingly wrong with this mindset. Bullying has been going on forever, but even with this society being the most tolerant in history, it is the new buzz word to promote an agenda, even though the suicide facts and statistics show that the majority of suicides are whites between the ages of 45-64 and 85-years and older.

Yet in the name of tolerance, bullying is used to promote a lifestyle while ignoring the higher suicide casualties or causes. To push an agenda, this administration is willing to ignore those who are factually more at risk for suicide; all for political gain.

We are witnessing what becomes of a society without God or moral absolutes. I agree that we need to dump the Kool-Aid, but swap it with a dose of morality for a spiritual cleansing of which this society and administration is in dire need.

Galations 6:7, Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.

Good morality does not come from the Bible. Modern Christians have just learned to ignore the passages of the Bible they do not agree with and twist others.

I don't see many Christians today pushing God's law to kill homosexuals (Leviticus 20:13) and instead interpret passages like this to just harass homosexuals. It is a step up from killing them, but they have already taken the first step in ignoring it.

They ignore passages to kill brides who have pre-marital sex (Deuteronomy 22:20-21), work on the Sabbath (Exodus 31:12-15) and fortune tellers (Leviticus 20:27). They pretend polygamy was not a sanctioned (Deuteronomy 21:15). They ignore the command to make a woman marry her rapist (Deuteronomy 22:28-29). We have moved beyond the Bronze Age morality enshrined in the Bible.

But I do welcome people to look up facts about rapes, murders, violent crimes and AIDS deaths and realize that as a society these are all lowering. It is hard to find a statistic that shows we are not living in a golden age of freedom, health and prosperity.

The good news is that Christianity is liberalizing once again to catch up with modern society. More Christians are accepting gay marriage as valid. In a few decades, Christians will be claiming that their religion accepted homosexuality all along and it was just a bad narrow-minded reading of today that resulted in the homophobia. We are just following the same historical trend as with interracial marriage.
