Filoli Gardens on day trip agenda

Patterson residents are invited to join in the Patterson Garden Club fall day trip, a scholarship fundraiser, on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

The day features a visit to the Filoli Gardens country estate set on 16 acres of formal gardens surrounded by 654 acres in Woodside, about 25 miles south of San Francisco. Filoli Gardens is owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is a California Historical Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. A visit to Half Moon Bay follows. The cost of lunch is not included in the trip.

The bus will leave from the Walmart parking lot, 1030 Sperry Ave., in Patterson at 7:30 a.m. and return at 6 p.m.

The $50 cost covers the bus trip and tour of Filoli Gardens; no refunds are given.

Checks should be made payable to Patterson Garden Club and mailed to Frank Stehli at the Patterson Garden Club, P.O. Box 1511, Patterson, CA 95363 by the deadline of Oct. 5, a Saturday.
