Community members are invited to put on their walking shoes and join with the Creekside Middle School students for the Run4Good October Challenge from 9 a.m. to 12 Noon on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
“Come join Creekside students and staff in the Panther Run 4Good Challenge,” said Toney Henry, assistant principal at Creekside. “We’d love to have parents and community members join us — and wear pink for breast cancer awareness month.”
Creekside Middle School, 535 Peregrine Drive, was recently awarded a $5,000 grant through the Saucony Run4good Foundation. Creekside is striving to log 10,000 miles during October to win an additional $5,000 for the school’s new 100 Mile Club, under the direction of teacher Janette Longrcrier. The grant is intended to help students’ lead active lifestyles and fight childhood obesity.
Participants who have smart phones can download the free app and use it when they walk or run to help the local students.
