Jaime Chavez, Chris Garcia and Isaiah Moreno each scored touchdowns, and the Ravens' varsity youth football team used a big second half to pull away from the Ripon Christian Knights 45-28 on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Patterson Community Stadium.

The local squad preserved a four-point halftime lead with a goal-line stand in the final two minutes of the second quarter.

The Ravens execution was nearly flawless over the final 20 minutes, putting away a feisty opponent, according to coach Bill Chastain.

Garcia gained more than 200 yards to pace the ground attack, with fullback Dave Valverde and the offensive line providing the gaps for the Ravens' runners.

The JV Ravens kept rolling Saturday as they handed the previously undefeated Ripon Christian Knights a 26-16 setback for their first loss of the season.

Zachary Rodriguez fired two touchdown passes in the game, connecting with Caden Williams for a scoring toss of 50 yards. He also had a 50-yard TD completion to Greg Reichmuth, as the Ravens improved their season mark to 9-0 with the victory.

"The Knights certainly showed why they were 8-0," said Patterson coach Joe Powers. "They were by far the best team we have played this year."

Williams added touchdown runs of 93 and three yards in a decisive win for the home team.

Results for other Ravens teams were not submitted by press time.
