Though none of his athletes advanced to the Masters round of the postseason, Patterson coach Jason Oliveira was proud of their performances.
"The girls not only got to compete in a section tournament, but were also able to play among some of the best female golfers in northern California high schools," Oliveira said.
Patterson's Simone Grice was the leading local golfer at the Division IV tournament at the Diablo Grande Ranch Course. She shot 122 on the par-73 course.
"Simone is a steady player, and in only her second year of playing golf she qualified for the divisional tournament," said Patterson coach Jason Oliveira. "We will be expecting great things from her moving into next season."
Other Patterson golfers competing in the Division IV event included Vicky Cruz and Sadie Schut. Cruz carded a score of 127, while Schut concluded her season with a round of 151.
"Vicky, like Simone, was a steady contributor," Oliveira said. "Her consistency helped keep us in the mix of the top four teams throughout our league season."
The Division IV tournament marked the end of Schut’s remarkable run on the Tigers’ golf team.
"Sadie went from never playing the game, to qualifying for the divisionals in one season," Oliveira said. "Although she did not have her best round at the divisionals, she should be very proud of her accomplishment as it is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and speaks volumes to what kind of competitor she is."
