A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, Nov. 4 for Florence Mae Stewart of Patterson, who died on Monday, Oct 28 at her residence after a two- month illness.

Mrs. Stewart, 89, was born in Ontario and was a resident of Patterson for 66 years. She moved to Patterson in 1947 when she married to begin her life as a wife, mother, homemaker and community volunteer.

Mrs. Stewart was very active with First Girl Scouts, Hospital Auxiliary, then Garden Club and Penny Pines. She was once awarded a State Certificate of Merit for her volunteer work.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Henry Homen of Modesto; grandchildren, Wendy and husband, Ken Habeeb and David Homen; great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Kelly Habeeb. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Charlotte and Thelma, and beloved husband, Verne B. Stewart.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4 at Hillview Funeral Chapel,, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson. Burial will follow at Patterson District Cemetery, 10800 Highway 33, Patterson.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Stewart’s name may be sent to Central Catholic High School FFA Program, 200 S. Carpenter Road, Modesto, CA 95351 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
