Coat drive begins

WHEN: Ongoing until Dec. 1

WHERE: Drop off coats and sweaters at Patterson locations

DETAILS: Community members are urged to support those less fortunate and donate used or gently used coats or sweaters that will be distributed to the families registered for the St. Vincent De Paul food and clothing circulation for the holidays. Some of the places where the coats can be dropped off are Valadez Jewelers, 10 Plaza Circle; Dish, 4 N. Salado Ave; Patterson Christian Fellowship, 118 N. Second St, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I St.; Center for Human Services, 118 N Second St., or the Patterson Branch Library, 46 N. Salado Ave.

Cozy Kids Coat Drive

WHEN: Ongoing until Dec. 5

WHERE: Drop off coats and sweaters at Patterson locations

DETAILS: Local resident Jennifer Brannon is coordinating a new and gently-used coat drive for area elementary school children through the Cozy Kids Coat Drive. Gently-used sweaters and sweatshirts are also appreciated. Donations are being accepted until Dec. 5 at the following Patterson locations: Tri Counties Bank, 17 Plaza, McAuley Ford, 250 N El Circulo, Thompson Chevrolet, 710 S. Second St., and at Covanta Energy, 4040 Fink Road, Crows Landing. Cozy Kids is an outreach ministry of Harvest Christian Center, Turlock.

Thursday, Dec. 5

Open house is planned

WHEN: 2 to 6 p.m.

WHERE: 118 N. Second St.

DETAILS: The Center for Human Services Patterson Family Resource Center will host an open house on Dec. 5 and welcomes community members to attend. Attendees are invited to learn about programs and services and take a tour of the center and meet the staff. Light refreshments will be served from 2 to 4 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 10

PHS ribbon cutting ceremony

WHEN: 9 a.m.

WHERE: Patterson High School administration building, 200 N. Seventh St.

DETAILS: Community members are invited to celebrate the completion of modernization projects at Patterson High School, as well as kick off the start of the school’s Centennial festivities. After the ceremony, attendees are invited to tour the high school and enjoy refreshments. Over the next two years, the PHS Centennial committee members will spearhead events to celebrate the school’s 100th
