One hundred and sixty Patterson High School students completed the “OVCB University of Finance” financial literacy program, sponsored by Oak Valley Bank this semester.

The students were honored with certificates on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Clara Johnson Memorial Auditorium on the PHS campus.

The class incorporates the EverFi Financial Literacy E-Learning program into student lessons. EverFi, which began in 2008, operates K-12 online education in areas such as financial literacy, student loan management and other life skills.

The online program uses new technologies, such as social networking and online animation. The students learned personal finance topics such as saving, budgeting, financing higher education and using credit cards wisely.

PHS instructors Salina Williams and Tony Lomeli implemented the Oak valley Bank University of Finance program in their classes.

Oak Valley Bank has branches throughout the valley including the Patterson Branch on Plaza Circle downtown.
