Patterson Police Services held its first “Coffee with Cops” at Blues Café on the first block of South Del Puerto Avenue Thursday, Dec. 5 between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.

A half dozen of Patterson’s finest met up with a handful of residents to talk over different issues and get to one another in an informal friendly setting.

Patterson Police Sgt. Paul Yotsuya said the intent of the event is to provide a friendly atmosphere that encourages open communication between residents and police.

Modest and Ceres police departments have held similar events recently as well.

Yotsuya said there will be another coffee event to meet Patterson Police deputies in February.

Next time maybe on a Saturday or Sunday morning, for those of who work it's had to take time off to meet the police for these type of events.
