Two troupes of local youth cheerleaders will bet on Vegas, after recently returning to Patterson big winners.

Fifteen girls from the Palm City Reapers youth cheerleading program were among the top placers Nov. 10 at the Jamz Royal Valley Championship, held in Fresno.

The Reapers' rookie and starter cheer teams will compete at the 2014 JAMZ Youth Nationals Competition, January 23 to 27, at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

"It's an honor to see the girls come away with a first-place trophy, and to see them get the opportunity to compete in such a huge competition," said Reapers' president James Bond. "The girls have worked hard all season, and all of that hard work has paid off."

The Reapers' rookie cheerleaders are: Mealyiah Burnett, Zianna Garcia, Gabriela Halcon, Lasenia Lawrence, Remi Lewis, Aleyaha McDonald, Aurora Newton, Nora Okitukunda, Sirenity Portillo and Breanna Taylor.

The Reapers' starter cheerleaders are: Stephanie Baeza, Nayeli Gallo, Sydney Druesedow, Jazmin Duran and Natalya Okitukunda.
