Fun programs at Patterson Branch Library

The Patterson Branch Library has a number of free programs on tap for the New Year, with fun promised for the whole family.

- Mondays, beginning Jan. 6: A new program has been introduced on Monday mornings at 9:30 a.m. called Wiggleworms. Children, ages infant to 2-years-old, are invited to enjoy storybooks, lap bounces, music, dancing, finger plays and more at this special program for babies, active toddlers, and adult caregivers. Wiggleworms runs Jan. 6, 13, 27, Feb. 24 and March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31.

- Tuesdays, beginning Jan. 7: Preschool Storytime will convene again at its 9:30 a.m. session only. Children ages 3 to 5 are invited and must be accompanied by an adult. Youngsters are invited to enjoy stories, finger plays and music. Preschool Storytime runs Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28; Feb.18, 25 and March 4, 11, 18, 25.

- Thursday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. features e-Book Training. Learn how to download free e-Books. Attendees are welcome to bring their own devices. To reserve a seat, call the library at 892-6473

- Saturday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m., the Family Movie showing on schedule is “Smurfs 2.” Everyone in the family is invited to watch this animated, family comedy sequel. The Friends of the Patterson Library will provide light refreshments.

- Saturday, Jan. 11, from 12 noon to 4:45 p.m., the Patterson Library will host local scrapbooking group, “Scrappin’ in Patterson.” Attend this series of free sessions to get started, or work on scrapbooking/paper crafting projects. These are self-guided sessions, but members are available for help. Bring your own materials. Light refreshments will be provided.

- Monday, Jan. 13 at 1:30 p.m. is designated for the Friends of the Patterson Library meeting. Anyone in town who is interested in volunteering for the library’s needs are welcome to attend.

- Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 3:30 p.m., Children’s Craft will learn about marble printing and will create special prints.

- Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 4 p.m. Teen Time Program teens can learn tactics and teamwork while playing Wii, board and card games.
