Trees in Patterson intrusive, hazardous

You know those unsightly old trees on North Third Street? Those ugly brown trees that look like something out of an old haunted house movie?

Usually those kind of trees are a lot of fun, but these trees are beginning to be a hazard and an annoyance. On Saturday, I witnessed a small child falling over the slippery yellow pollen the trees produce in the winter time.

That yellow pollen also causes allergy flare-ups and dirt traffic into buildings.

Plus, the tree closest to our Irrigator building look like it could grow into the top window at any moment. Perhaps it’s time to give the Third Street trees a makeover. I’m not asking for no trees, just trees that will be safe, clean and environmentally friendly.

Kimberly Yakin,

Patterson
