A funeral service was conducted for Flora Imogene Meldrum Romo of Patterson, who died on Wednesday, Dec.18 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.

Mrs. Romo, 82, was born in Mt. Vernon, Ill., and lived with her daughter Lona Barletta in Patterson for the last 20 years. She was a great grandmother of 27, a grandmother to 17 and loved to get together with her family. She loved crocheting, cooking, canning and gardening.

Mrs. Romo is survived by her son, Max Meldrum, and his wife Evelyn of Woodlake; daughter, Lona Barletta, and her husband Larry of Patterson, daughter, Sheila Cope and her husband Tim of Vacaville and daughter, Valarie Mohr of Shawnee, Okla. and a brother, Gerald Downen of Apache Junction, Ariz. Mrs. Romo is preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Rudell Meldrum; second husband, Joe Romo; brothers, Bob and Bill Downen; sister, Ruby Darnell; two daughters, Charlotte Meiborg and Joanne Darnell and also two grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Patterson District Cemetery in Patterson.

Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., Patterson is handling the arrangements.
