Guadalupe ‘Lupe’ Hernandez

A funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 15 for Guadalupe “Lupe” Hernandez, 49, of Midland, Texas, who died on Jan. 2014.

Ms. Hernandez was born on June 10, 1964 in Lubbock, Texas to Felix Hernandez and Maria Garza. She raised five children that were her pride and joy, Elena, Ernesto, Anthony, Frances, and Samantha. She earned her certificate as a Certified Nurse Assistant and worked for Reliable Nursing. Ms. Hernandez loved her job, but her family was the most important thing in her life. She will be remembered for her compassion for her patients and her determination to complete all the goals she set for herself, according to her family. Ms. Hernandez was very loving and loyal to her family and her numerous friends. She loved and served the Lord every day of her life. The lives she touched will never forget the joy that followed everywhere she went.

Ms. Hernandez is survived by her father, Felix Hernandez; brothers, Robert Hernandez, Ricardo Lopez, John Gonzales, Rene Flynn, Johnathan Helmer (of Patterson), Sam Hernandez, Michael Hernandez and Daniel Hernandez; sister, Brenda Anzaldua; daughters, Elena Ortiz and husband Carlos, Frances Garcia-Huey and husband Royal and Samantha Meza; sons, Ernesto and Anthony Garcia; granddaughters, Irma, Hannah, Keely, and Ella Ortiz; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Her mother, Maria Garza, precedes her in death.
