The American Association of Retired Persons Tax Aide Program will begin serving Patterson residents from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays starting Monday, Feb. 3, at the Hammon Senior Center, located at 1033 W. Las Palmas Ave.

The tax aide intends to serve senior citizens (ages 60-and-older) and low-income residents who are unable to perform tax preparations.

Local residents who wish to receive help from the AARP tax aide volunteers must bring their current tax forms and preparation booklet; copy of last year’s income tax return; W-2 forms from each employer; unemployment compensation statements; SSA-1099 form (if the person was paid Social Security benefits); all 1099 forms, including those showing dividends and interest; dependent care provider information; and all receipts or canceled checks if itemizing deductions.

Those who wish to have their taxes prepared should also bring Social Security cards or other official documentation for themselves and all dependents.
