DETAILS: In association with the Stanislaus District Attorney’s Office and Catholic Charities, the Stanislaus Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance will be hosting informational luncheon meetings with various speakers at the Hammon Senior Center in Patterson. The Patterson Lions Club currently sponsors the program. Their latest meeting was in association with the Office of Emergency Services, where they spoke on Disaster Preparedness and services provided by the American Red Cross.
The presentation revolved around an Emergency Channel specifically designed for Stanislaus County.
In Patterson, the station is FM92.7 for English and FM 97.1 for Spanish.
The Stanislaus Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance will host their next meeting at 10 a.m. on Feb. 11 at the Hammon Senior Center.
They will also be hosting their first S.A.F.E. seminar on Elder Abuse Prevention at the Hammon Senior Center on Feb. 27. The seminar is open to everyone and will include a complimentary continental breakfast and full lunch. The seminar will be limited to the first 100 reservations.

Thursday, Feb. 13 Westside Readers invites new members WHEN: 1 p.m.

DETAILS: Members will discuss the book “Beautiful Ruins: A Novel” by Jess Walter. The novel, set in the 1960s is set in the fictitious town of Porto Vergogna on the southern coast of Genoa, Italy. An American actress arrives in the village and catches the eye of a townsman and adventure ensues.

DETAILS: The Boys of Summer — five musicians from Southern California with decades of experience — play the music of The Eagles. Tunes include music by Don Henley, Glen Fry, John David Souther, Joe Walsh and Don Felder.
