At the Jan. 27 meeting, Maring thanked outgoing president Anne Stokman for serving as president and said the board will continue to move ahead to provide medical care to the community and finish union negotiations.
“Hopefully, we can move on as a board and work together for the benefit of the district,” Maring said. “Our constituents are our primary motive for being here. It’s a high priority of mine to see that we can bring these negotiations with the ambulance (providers) to a mutual beneficial conclusion that benefits all of us… Recruitment of physicians is also a high priority.”
Maring, a local farmer, served more than 30 years on the board and lost his bid for re-election in 2010. He was re-elected to the board in 2012.
Harold Hill is also on the five-member board.
