A rural Patterson resident came home to find two burglars in the process of ransacking his home on the 16000 block of Sycamore Avenue Feb.18 around 9:45 a.m.

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Keith Rakoncza said Friday, Feb. 21 that the burglars fled the residence and got into a white 1990s full-size pickup truck believed to be a Ford F-150 that was parked in the driveway.

The victim told deputies he saw two Hispanic males flee the area while firing several shots in the homeowner’s direction. The homeowner did not pursue the two and their direction of travel was unknown.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s department or leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636. Tipsters can also e-mail tips at, or text them to CRIMES (274637) by typing "Tip704" plus the message and be eligible for a cash reward.
