St. Vincent de Paul members from Sacred Heart Catholic Church will host the 2014 March Against Hunger 4-mile walk-a-thon Saturday, March 29. Money raised will benefit those in need in the Patterson, Westley, Grayson and Crows Landing communities.

The kickoff weekend is on Saturday and Sunday, March 1 and 2, where information will be available at the Friends of the Church Breakfast at Father Connors Hall, 220 N. Salado Ave., beginning at 8 a.m.

T-shirts will also be for sale at the breakfast. Community members from all area churches are invited to the breakfast and to participate in the walk at the end of the month.

Community members should note that the March 29 walk-a-thon registration and starting point has changed from prior years to Bonaventure Hall, 505 M Street from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. All are invited.

The walk begins at 8:30 a.m. sharp and will take place rain or shine.

Each person is asked to donate $5 to participate. Anyone who collects $25 or more in donations can earn a free T-shirt for each $25 donated.
