Deolinda Silva, 82, passed away peacefully at Modesto Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Born and raised in the island of Santa Maria- Azores to parents Vitorino Andrade and Mariana Moura. Mrs. Silva and her daughter Mariana immigrated to California in the mid 1960’s to the Silva Ranch in Crows Landing.
Deolinda loved to sing, play the Portuguese guitar and harmonica. She was filled with a contagious joy and a great sense of humor that had everyone around her smiling and feeling connected with a divine spirit. She was Heaven sent and gave her life to the service of others, both in the United States and the Azores. In the Azores she worked at the American Air Force Base. In the U.S. she was a dedicated nurse assistant and was very kind and dedicated to her patients. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church
in Patterson, a member of the YLI, and a life time member of UPPEC.
She is survived by her daughter Marianne Worsham and her husband, Jesse, grandchildren Richard (Kim) Linda, and Justin (Nathalie) great grandchildren Tyler, Chase, McCayla, Miranda, Jacob, and Jack; her sister Helena, two nieces, two stepchildren, and many step grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 7 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Turlock, California.
We are filled with gratitude to have had her in our lives, our earthly loss will become our heavenly guide: teaching us how to forgive and be kind to one another.
