Saturday, April 12 10th Art and Wine Gala is on tap WHEN: 6 to 9 p.m.

WHERE: Hammon Senior Center, 1033 W. Las Palmas Ave.

DETAILS: The Patterson Repertory Theatre’s 10th Annual Art and Wine Gala, co-sponsored by Patterson Parks and Recreation, will take place at the Hammon Senior Center April 12. Appetizers and home brewed beer and wine are included in the ticket price. The first 200 people who attend will receive a commemorative wine glass. Steel and Ink will be doing a live tattoo session. A silent auction and entertainment by the Sunshine Ukulele Players, Simon Wilson and James Lugo, as well as Rachel Dunfee on piano, are on the agenda. All proceeds will benefit the Patterson Repertory Theatre.

COST: $25 presale tickets may be purchased at Steel and Ink, 1010 W. Las Palmas Ave; tickets are $30 at the door.

Begins Tuesday, April 15 Friends of the Library book sale WHEN: April 15, 16, 17 and 21

WHERE: Patterson Branch Library, 46 N. Salado Ave

DETAILS: The Friends of the Patterson Branchy Library will host a book sale open for four days starting on April 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. for members only. On April 16, 17 and 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the sale will be open to the public. Money raised goes towards library needs not covered by the library budget.

Saturday, April 19 Soroptimists host Miss Patterson finalists WHEN: 12 noon table viewing and lunch served at 1 p.m.; preview from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 18

WHERE: Masonic Hall, 650 N. 6th and M streets

DETAILS: Soroptimist International of Patterson is hosting “A Day at the Movies”’ table setting luncheon featuring the Miss Patterson finalists. Attendees will have time to view the tables before lunch, which are each decorated with movie themes. Soroptimist improves the lives of women and girls leading to social and economic empowerment. The money raised will go to local projects.

COST: Tickets are $10 each from any Soroptimsit, Miss Patterson finalist or at the door.

Thursday, April 24 County fair hosts job fair WHEN: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

WHERE: Stanislaus County Fairgrounds, 900 N. Broadway, Turlock in Building E-2.

DETAILS: The Stanislaus County Fair is hosting a Job Fair, an opportunity for people of the Central Valley to apply to work for the 2014 Stanislaus County Fair season. Department Supervisors will be prepared at the fairgrounds to take applications to fill a variety of positions. Available positions include, but are not limited to, ticket sellers and takers, maintenance staff, office staff, exhibit clerks, and security.
