The Patterson Joint Unified School District has announced the date of the public hearing for the Local Control Accountability Plan, also known as LCAP, to be postponed until 7 p.m. June 2 instead of Monday, May 5.
In order to comply with Local Control Funding Formula, school districts from throughout the state must present annual strategic plans known as the Local Control Accountability Plan.
The Local Control Funding Formula is a new way for the state to distribute money to public schools. School districts must plan on how they will spend the money received by stating their goals and objectives aligned to the funding plan.
By doing this, districts will have more say so at the local level on how to utilize funds for the school.
LCAP, along with its objectives and goals, must be presented to county and state education officials by the end of June.
Those interested in attending the public hearing for input on LCAP should do so at 7 p.m. June 2 in the PJUSD boardroom, 510 Keystone Blvd.
