Cheryl Renee Sousa, 50 of Antioch left us suddenly on Friday, April 25, 2014.

She was born in Patterson on July 18, 1963 to Milburn and Lillian Parker. Mrs. Sousa graduated from Patterson High School in 1981 and Modesto Junior College in 1983. She

married Gregory Wayne Sousa of Ceres, CA on June 22, 1985. Greg and Cheryl welcomed their daughter Rachel Nicole on April 12, 2001.

Mrs. Sousa was a long-term employee of Contra Costa County with her most recent position held as a Senior Real Property Agent. She was a certified senior right-of-way agent and was the past President of the International Right-of-Way Association, Chapter 2. Cheryl was an avid shopper who adored her daughter and had a kind heart for four-legged animals.

Mrs. Sousa is survived by her husband of 29 years and her beloved daughter; her sisters Roxanne Fitzsimmons of Antioch; Debbie (Jim) Russell of Patterson; and

DeAnna (Ron) Thorn of Modesto; a brother, Richard Rico of Martinez; her nephews Nick, Erik, Justin, Peter, Christopher and Eric; her nieces Sara, Lilly, Stephanie

and Christine; and her three spoiled cats Figgy, Salem and Stray Stray.

A viewing will be observed from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel at 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson on Wednesday, May 7. A Memorial Service will

be held at the Golden Hills Community Church at 2401 Shady Willow Lane in Brentwood, CA on Thursday, May 8 at 9 a.m. with a reception to follow. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Patterson District Cemetery at 10800 Highway 33 in Patterson following the Memorial Service on May 8, 2014
