Sacred Heart students receive DeGroot awards

Thirteen students from Sacred Heart Catholic School were among the honorees recognized on Wednesday, April 30 for obtaining Msgr. James DeGroot leadership awards.

Fourth to eighth-grade elementary students in Catholic schools in the Diocese of Stockton are recognized annually with the awards. Students are nominated by teachers or school principals who fill out an application and explain their service as leaders in their school and their community.

Sacred Heart School students who received the awards are Lehua Deleon, Kaylah Ferreira, Claire Friedrich, Michaela Friedrich, Daren-Moses Heramia, Logan McCleery, Michelle Nunez, Allyson Oliveira, Trevor Pedron, Angelo Raffo, Tatianna Tafoya, Thies Thoming and Trista Thoming.
