Modesto Junior College is offering two Home Health Aide (HHA) Certification classes (Nurse 53) this year. The HHA class is taught in seven and a half days with the first five days spent on theory and the last two and a half days in clinical review.

A valid, unrestricted nurse assistant certification issued by California Department of Public Health is required to take this class.

The first class, section #5300, begins on May 8, and the second class, section #5310, will begin June 17 with a mandatory orientation date of May 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Glacier Hall 101 on West Campus. Seating is limited to 30 students per class.

The HHA certification class covers orientation to home health care, personal care of clients including medical and social needs, nutrition, safety and cleanliness in the home.

There are no books required and approximate fees are $90.

Interested students with nurse assistant certification are encouraged to register at https://piratesnet.mjc.edu by clicking on the “Log In” tab on the top right of the page.

Funding for these class offerings was provided by a generous contribution from the Arthur N. Rupe Foundation.
