Patterson bakers still have time to brush up on their culinary skills for the 2014 Apricot Fiesta Baking Contest.

Local bakers can drop off their apricot baked goods between 4 and 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at McAuley Ford, 250 N. El Circulo.

Private judging will begin at 5:15 p.m. Please note that all contestants must be residents of Patterson.

Those who enter should bring their baked goods, a copy of the recipe used, and the entry fee at the time of drop off. An entry form must be completed at the time of drop off.

Categories include: miscellaneous desserts; pies; cakes; cookies and bars; and an anything goes miscellaneous baked dish that includes apricots (non-dessert dishes), and the new Kids’ Entries category.

It is important to remember that all recipes must include apricots.

A $5 entry fee is required for each baked item entered into the contest. A grand prizewinner will receive cash prize, as will the first-and second-place winners in each category.

For information: Gwendolyn Valentine or Genevieve Valentine, 892-5544.
