Star Pedron of Patterson was one of the six people honored Saturday, May 3, with the Boy Scout District Award of Merit at the scout’s Rio Del Oro District awards evening in Turlock.

The District Award of Merit is awarded by a District or to registered Scouters for outstanding service to youth in the District. Normally, the award is presented for service to youth in excess of five years.

She is also a member of the Boy Scout Troop 81 Committee and has been a merit badge counselor for the last five years. She has also been involved with the West Side Day Camp for the Greater Yosemite Council, and has a BSA as a program assistant. She has also been a day camp director for the last five years.

The Greater Yosemite Council, of which the Rio Oro District is a part of, consists of Stanislaus, Merced, Mariposa, Calaveras, San Joaquin, and Tuolumne counties and is divided into three districts.
