Mark Lanfranki graduates from U.S. Naval Academy

U.S. Marine Corps Second Lieutenant Mark D. Lanfranki, grandson of the late John Lanfranki MD and Virginia Lanfranki, and son of David and Ann Lanfranki, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., on May 23, 2014 and was commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps Second Lt. Lanfranki is a 2010 graduate of Tracy High School.

Lanfranki successfully completed four years of intensive academic, physical and professional training, resulting in two Bachelor’s of Science Degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering as a graduate of the naval academy. He also completed a four-year, total-immersion program, where a strong, balanced academic program focused on the educational needs of the Navy and Marine Corps, is superimposed in a strict, professional military training environment.

Following graduation, Second Lt. Lanfranki has been assigned to The Basic School in Quantico, Va., where he will continue training as a U.S. Marine Corps infantry platoon commander. Folloring The Basic School, he will head to flight school in Pensacola, Fla. for further training to become a Marine aviator.
