Helen Martha Maring was born in Los Angeles, California on Sept. 9, 1910. Her parents were J. Gustave Maulhardt and Bertha Pfeiler Maulhardt. After meeting her

future husband, John A. Maring, at a function in Santa Ana they were married in Los Angeles and began farming in Orange County. Opportunities in Ventura County led them

to relocate to farm around the Camarillo area where Helen’s ancestry from the Pfeiler and Maulhardt families places her among the pioneers of the region. John and Helen enjoyed frequent travel to all parts of the world including several times to Germany to visit John’s family. After their retirement, John and Helen moved to Patterson to be near

their son, Edward. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson and a member of California Women for Agriculture.

Mrs. Maring is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John Albert Maring, by her son David A. Maring, and by two grandsons; Joseph Borchard and John Borchard and niece, Susan Maulhardt-Harris

Mrs. Maring is survived by sons J. George Maring of Salt Lake City, Edward J. Maring (Mimi) of Patterson, and by nephew Thomas A. Maulhardt (Luciann) of Seal Beach, CA. She also leaves 11 grandchildren: Maiya Hutchinson, Regina Clark (Paul), James Borchard (Karen), Cathleen Grzanich (Dan), Christen Withrow (Terrance), Jon Maring (Tami), Carolyn Stremfel (John), Matthew Maring, Thomas Maring (Nancy), Sarah Brooks (Robert), and Joel Maring (Lacie). Mrs. Maring had the joy of welcoming 45 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren to her life before her passing.

The family of Helen Martha Maring extends their sincerest appreciation to all her caregivers for their outstanding care and heartfelt compassion.

A Visitation, Rosary and Funeral Mass were held on Tuesday, July 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 “I” St. Patterson, CA. Entombment followed at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson, CA.
