PHARMACY TO SUPPLY SCHOOL KITS
Thursday, July 31 or until the supply runs out

WHEN: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Patterson Family Pharmacy, 47 S. Del Puerto Ave.

DETAILS: Patterson Family Pharmacy will give away 500 free school supplies to kids on a first-come, first-serve basis through their Prescription for Success program. The school supply kits will contain pencils, crayons, a ruler, glue stick, eraser, pencil sharpener and vouchers for one year of free chewable multivitamins in a pencil box. To receive a kit, the child’s parent simply needs to come sign for it. Limit is one kit per child.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
Tuesday, Aug. 5

WHEN: 6 to 8:30 p.m.

WHERE: Various locations throughout Patterson.

DETAILS: Patterson residents will observe National Night Out, a program designed to encourage neighbors to build stronger relationships with each other and public safety crews. Dignitaries as well as police, fire and ambulance crews will be on hand during Tuesday’s festivities at the following locations: 6 p.m., Las Palmas Mobile Estates, 250 W. Las Palmas Ave; 6:30 p.m. Helping Others Sleep Tonight shelter, 405 S. Fourth St.; 7 p.m. Garza Park, Hartley Street and Loreli Lane; 7:30 p.m., Family Christian Center, 18 S. Sixth St., 8 p.m. Aprigold Park, Hackney Street

and Pinto Way and 8:30 p.m. 1233 Yellowhammer.

PAINT FOR FREEDOM
Saturday, Aug. 16

WHEN: 6 to 9 p.m.

WHERE: Patterson Covenant Church, 435 W. Las Palmas Ave

DETAILS: The Paint for Freedom Art Gala Reception and Auction will be at the Covenant Church on Aug. 16. The fundraiser will raise money for victims of human trafficking who live in a safe house called A New Day for Children.

Local organizers Chris Collier and Michelle Lum want to educate the community about the growing problem of human trafficking.

Artists can join in and create artwork from 7 to 9 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month at Patterson Covenant Church, 435 W. Las Palmas Ave. or artwork can be mailed to the above address.
