Aug. 5

6:52 a.m.: Vandalism to a vehicle was reported on the 500 block of I Street when an unknown subject(s) threw a concrete rock at the front windshield causing a crack.

12:19 p.m.: Attempted burglary was reported when an unknown subject(s) forced entry into a home on the 700 block of North Third Street and attempted to take items, but left without removing items from the residence.

Aug. 6

12:27 a.m.: Raul Canales, 29, was arrested for felony possession of non-narcotic control substance and a misdemeanor Merced County warrant on the corner of First Street and Las Palmas Avenue.

Aug. 7

1:15 p.m.: Grand theft was reported when several pieces of jewelry were taken from the bedroom of a residence on the 30 block of South Del Puerto Avenue.

4:46 p.m.: Alma Quintero was given a citation for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation on the 200 block of West Las Palmas Avenue.

6:45 p.m.: Joseph Costa, 27, was arrested for felony corporal injury to spouse on the 400 block of Roxanne Drive.

Aug. 8

There were no incidents to report.

Aug. 9

12:08 a.m.: Alberto Ayala, 24, was cited for misdemeanor driving under the influence and misdemeanor driving on a suspended license at the corner of Susan Street and Roxanne Drive.

Aug. 10

6:19 p.m.: Philippe Estrada, 22, was arrested for misdemeanor drunk in public at Trout Creek Lane and Snake Creek Drive.

8:32 p.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported when an unknown subject(s) forced entry into a vehicle and took a purse on the 1000 block of Sperry Avenue.

Aug. 11

1:23 a.m.: Kayla Lavender, 23, was arrested for felony corporal injury to spouse on the 500 block of Osprey Drive.

7:18 p.m.: A petty theft was reported on the 1100 block of James Burke Avenue when a suitcase containing clothing and hygiene items was taken by an unknown subject(s) after being left on the front porch.

7:44 p.m.: A gray Honda was reported stolen when an unknown subject(s) took the vehicle without permission on the 200 block of North Third Street.
