The Patterson High junior varsity spring athletics season was capped off at the annual Spring Athletic Awards Banquet on Monday, May 18, inside the school’s gymnasium.
“This is a night to honor all of our athletes for their hard work and dedication throughout the season,” Patterson athletics director Dave Klein said.
Patterson’s Cesar Gomez earned the JV baseball team’s Most Valuable Player award. Teammate Ricky Howard took home the Coach’s Award.
JV softball coach Harley Parsons named Stephanie Cantu the team’s MVP. Teammates Sierra Santos and Brianna Gill were deemed co-captains. And Dani Hansen came away with the Tiger Pride Award.
JV girls soccer coach Sheila Ludwig also handed out a pair of awards.
Yvette Meza claimed the team’s Outstanding Offensive Player honor. Teammate Jessica Funston earned the Tiger Pride Award.
“There was no one player that helped us to such a great season,” Ludwig said. “This year we had a real team effort, and I’m looking forward to what the girls bring next season.”
Patterson track and field coach Shellie Freres named Rajaee Delane the JV team’s Most Valuable Athlete. Teammates Zach Whitney and Wesley Hasekamp earned co-captain honors. George Garcia took home the Tiger Pride Award.
