Patterson police responded to a report of a theft around midnight. The girls — two 13-year-olds and two 14-year-olds — had allegedly stolen a case of beer from a convenience store on the 15000 block of Rogers Road and driven off.
Shortly after, an officer spotted a vehicle and passengers that matched the description driving near Highway 33 and M Street. A chase ensued, however, when he pulled them over and got out of his car, the teens sped off before he could approach them.
After temporarily ditching the officer at a roundabout, the suspects were later located on the 1000 block of Goldfinch Lane, where they had crashed into a parked car and fled in different directions on foot.
Police cited the two juveniles who stole the beer on charges for burglary, while the others were cited for conspiracy. Other charges may include hit and run resulting in property damage, driving without a license, and failure to obey a uniformed police officer. All four girls were released to their parents and will appear before a juvenile court, police said.
