Day to shed light on Lyme disease

Save One Lyme at a Time, a nonprofit, will present Lyme Aid, a day of Lyme disease awareness, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 10 at 15612 Ash Ave.

The day will include live music, barbecued food, vendors, a super slide, pony rides, a silent auction and donation drawings.

Admission is $5 per family and $2 per person.

E-waste collection to help students

The newly formed Patterson Education Foundation will have its first e-waste collection day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 11 in the Walgreens parking lot, at the corner of Ward and Sperry avenues.

Community members can recycle cell phones, GPS devices, iPods, inkjet or laser print cartridges, video games and consoles, digital cameras, laptops and DVDs.

Proceeds will help the Patterson Education Foundation, a nonprofit that gives financial support for enrichment opportunities throughout the Patterson Joint Unified School District. The group’s mission is to enhance the education of all district students by encouraging the entire community to participate.
