Patterson was defeated, 221-277, by Central Catholic at Dryden Golf Course in Modesto on April 20 before falling against Gustine, 274-288, on Diablo Grande’s Legends course on April 22.
“We played very well in both matches but could not come away with a victory in either,” Patterson coach Jason Oliveira said.
Patterson was paced on the par-36 Dryden course by Chris Hohl’s round of 50. Teammates John Grischott and Ray Lee also fared well, carding a 53 and 59, respectively.
“I’m very pleased how all of our players have remained positive throughout the season and have kept their focus on improving,” Oliveira said.
John Halseth led the Tigers against Gustine with a season-low 53 on the par-36 Legends course. Hohl added a 58.
“It was great to see John have such a good round,” Oliveira said. “He’s been working really hard on his short game, and it showed.”
Oliveira said that he looks forward to ending the regular season at home. Patterson will conclude its 2010 campaign at Diablo Grande against league leaders Hilmar and Livingston.
“It will be nice to be back on our own course,” Oliveira said. “Our guys are playing very well, especially taking into consideration that five of the six players on our active roster have very limited golf experience.”
